It looks like the long awaited development of London Road Fire Station is soon to get underway. We were recently tasked with capturing some general views of the building’s façade ahead of contractors moving in to assemble a scaffold.

Allied London is due to develop the historic and beautiful site – long delayed after being owned by Britannia Hotel group. Boo! Never stay in a Britannia Hotel!
The newly restored building will see the former fire station transformed to host an array of attractions, including a boutique 91-room hotel, offices, apartments, a cinema, a luxury spa and bars and restaurants.
The development could open as early as summer 2019.
New owners Allied London said the multi-million pound plans would ‘breathe new life’ into the building.

Welcoming the planning committee’s decision, they said the scheme’s focus was always on ‘protection and preservation’ to ensure the Grade II-listed building’s ‘Edwardian charm’ remained intact.

Original features, including the slate roof, timber, brickwork, stone and tiles will be preserved.
