Medusa 19 is a small, dynamic healthcare business that was born from a need to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing an innovative solution that can help everyone get back to normal. With extensive experience in worldwide logistics, delivery, e-commerce, supply chains and fulfilment co-founders Richard Hughes and Mahmud Kamani, founders of boohoo, sought to deliver a solution to restore trust, reduce impact on businesses and put people back in control of their day-to-day lives.

Testing for business

We visited Medusa 19 at their Glasshouse office in Alderley Park to get some PR photographs as they launched the business and their first generation testing kit. We returned in March to see their latest covid testing products, including a rapid saliva protein testing kit.

The Rapid Saliva Protein Test (RSPT) is a non-invasive test indicating the immune response to infection from SARS-CoV-2, the virus underlying COVID-19, using a simple saliva sample. Less intrusive than a swab or blood test, the RSPT provides results on the spot within 15 minutes, and can be taken on the premises, with a healthcare professional present.

Easy-to-use

It is easy to use and indicates whether someone is currently infected.

Developed in the UK and Spain, the test is CE marked to 98/79/EC, registered with the MHRA, and is for use under supervision from a medical professional throughout Europe. It’s proving pivotal in helping companies regulalrly test employees, safely reopen workplaces and take action in line with government guidance.
